The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is partnering with Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College (Southern) to announce the state’s first-ever pilot program for individuals receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits toward achieving self-sufficiency.

To announce the pilot project, DHHR Cabinet Secretary Karen L. Bowling and Merle Dempsey, Interim President of Southern, will hold a joint press conference at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, in Building A, Room 111 at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, located at 2900 Dempsey Branch Road, Mount Gay, WV 25637.
